something that frustrates me
the reason for my next next book + updates
Recently, I saw these comments on a video from my podcast. I’m convinced the average Christian has some of the worst thinking on money, prosperity and what Scripture actually teaches about it.
I understand why this exists. So many people have taught success and prosperity poorly in the church. There are two extremes, and both of these camps teach wrong.
This is why I’m spending as much time as I can now writing the Vow of Prosperity.
If you haven’t read through what I’ve written so far, start at the beginning of those posts and take the journey. Eventually, I believe this content will become my next, next book.
the next book
I haven’t written much here over the last 6 weeks. That’s because I’ve been completing my first draft of my next book. This is a book I planned to write one day, but it was not on my radar. Until my agent, Rory Green at Alive Literary reached out to me and asked if I’d ever thought about working with agents and publishers.
I said no, and that I wasn’t interested for a bunch of reasons. Then he asked to do a call. I said no again. Then I thought about it, we did a few calls, and now I have an agent. This was in June of 2025.
Usually, an author with an agent has an outline, sells the outline to a publisher and then writes the book. I’m not against doing that, however, I went ahead and wrote the book. I took some focused time from January to now to get it to where I think it needs to be. Now that my first draft is complete, we’ll write a proposal, take it to some publishers and see what happens.
The Way to Live was not written as a book. It was a series of teachings I did on how to follow Jesus incorporating Stoic philosophy. It’s really a foundational book for anyone trying to get a 30,000 foot view of the practicalities of the Old Testament, New Testament and everything in between. When my dad heard my ideas, he convinced me to transform them into a book. Of course, I like my book. However, I didn’t formulate it as a book. I’m excited about this new book, because this is the book I would write if I set out to write a book. Hopefully we’ll have more details on that soon.
The book will probably release in 2027.
what’s now
Why do I tell you all of this? Because I’m now going to be working on completing the Vow of Prosperity as I imagine it.
I don’t know if it will actually be my next next book, but you’re going to see what I write long before the world does. I’m going to be spending the next few weeks and months walking through the history of prosperity in the Church, the Prosperity Gospel, how the Bible actually presents the Church, and Christianity as slavery. Wonder how it all ties together? You’ll see.
New VOP post comes this week.
